What is EFT?
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is a revolutionary therapeutic approach that combines ancient Eastern wisdom with cutting-edge psychology.
Developed in the 1990s by Gary Craig, EFT takes the principles of acupuncture rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine and blends it with various modern cognitive therapies.
How EFT Works
EFT involves gently tapping on specific acupressure points on your face and body while talking about particular issue or feelings. This process helps to release any stuck emotions and process past events.
It sounds weird and looks even crazier when you see it for the first time. But there's now hundreds of research showing the positive biological changes in our brain and body in response to EFT Tapping.
The Effectiveness of EFT
What's truly exciting about EFT is its proven effectiveness. Over 300 studies have shown improvement across various issues:
fMRI brain scans have also showed improvement in brain activity, and another study revealed that EFT can reduce cortisol levels (stress hormone) – by an impressive 43%. This explains why so many people experience rapid relief when using EFT.
Why EFT is great for ADHD
The reason emotional regulation is harder for those with ADHD is because of various differences in the brain and how the nervous system works.
EFT research shows positive improvements in the exact brain regions responsible for emotional reactions (like amygdala and hippocampus), as well as the vagus nerve. This nerve plays a central role in how your body regulates stress and emotions.
EFT isn't just another tool like pause, name the emotion and reflect. It works at a neurological level to actually change how your brain and nervous system processes and responds to triggers. Therefore, reducing the intensity and frequency of disproportionate emotional reactions over time.

Hi there! I'm Anete Faulds, an accredited Holistic Therapist and EFT Practitioner.
My journey began during a tumultuous time in my life. As a new mum amidst the pandemic, I was grappling with the loss of my grandmother and battling chronic pain. I felt as if I were drowning, barely keeping afloat. It was then that I discovered the transformative power of EFT.
It became my lifeline, helping me process grief, manage pain, and find moments of peace in the chaos of new motherhood. When I discovered I had ADHD, EFT continued to help me navigate this new chapter by adjusting to a new way of living and being, with greater ease and more joy.
The profound impact EFT had on my life - from those overwhelming early days to the later challenges realising I have ADHD in my 30s - was so remarkable that I knew I had to share it. It's not just a technique; it's a powerful tool for transformation that I'm passionate about offering to anyone seeking more happiness. It's time to finally enjoy life - not just survive.
